Church music was something that stayed with me even after I moved away from my childhood home. The feeling it inspired and the way it invigorated my spirits was something I always cherished. One of the best things was the magnanimity of the volume. It wasn’t only loud but also very intense. I was naturally curious to know more about the amplifier they used so I could get one for myself too.

The Marshall JVM215C has some of the most extensive features to its name. It contains the expansive 6 mode sound palette that ensures a very heavy overdrive. Moreover, unlike most other models, Marshall isn’t very hard to use. You will get three modes on each channel, and you can make use of the LED indicator light to know which mode is on.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Marshall JVM215C

When you have so many expectations attached to one particular product, it is hard not to get confused between your choices. But that didn’t happen to me because I was convinced that I wanted the exact amplifier that my old Church used. It offered excellent diversity and high power volume. A lot of thought also went into its construction, which is why Marshall is considered to be one of the most durable amplifiers in the market.

I also knew that Marshall offered easy installation and could be hanged through the ceiling. What I didn’t know was whether the unit would offer me portability or not. I wanted an amplifier that I could carry around to picnics and outdoor gatherings. I decided to ask myself a couple of questions, so that I could reach an informed decision.

  • How often do I need to carry my unit?
  • Does it offer good value for money?
  • Will it break if it falls or upon sudden impact?

There were actually a dozen other questions that were occupying my head. But my final decision needed to be based upon the answers to these three basic questions. I knew that I had a small budget and hence didn't have room for any errors. Moreover, I tend to be very clumsy, and needed a unit that came with a strong body. Marshall JVM, to my utmost relief, was affordable, portable and also offered good durability.

Presenting the Product

There is so much competition in today's market that it's almost impossible not to get confused between your choices. I made sure I didn't fall for cheap marketing tactics and only believed in hard facts. My preferred brand, Marshall, made no false promises and presented all the features as they were. It offers a 50 W output power. This may be relatively less than some other models, but it suited my needs perfectly. Moreover, you get a 2 channel mixer that allows you to mix and match a plethora of different sounds. The best thing about these mixers is that they are independent of each other. So if you want to achieve greater clarity, you too should consider this unit.

Features & Benefits

Once I started looking at its features, it was hard to stop. There were just so many exemplary features like good durability, portability, and ease of convenience, but what really fascinated me was the fact that I could get all this and more at such a low price. I also got to enjoy good control and could make as many adjustments as I wanted. Here is everything that I loved about Marshall JVM.

Amplified music

The best thing about any amplifier is that it magnifies your volume and makes it appear larger than it is. The existence of two separate channels helps you mix and match a variety of different volumes without getting the voice distorted. These two mixers overdrive and clean/crunch each offer 3 distinct modes. You can also make use of the studio-quality reverb to achieve better clarity. Moreover, there are resonance controls that help enhance the quality of the music.

Master volumes

People like me, who enjoy solos, will love using this model. It offers two master volumes that make sure that you get the loudest music possible. Since the unit is easy to operate, you can also use it on the stage and enhance your gig performance. Moreover, an FX loop is included that allows you to combine a variety of amps without changing the external FX pedal.

Fully programmable amp

This feature makes this model great for road trips. The volume I preferred while traveling with my friends was really loud and intense. Luckily, Marshall didn't disappoint there either. It comes with a four-way footswitch that enabled me to fully program the amp and have my favorite control combinations stored for later. I could also use these combinations to play with any other speaker.

Midi compatibility

This feature allows you to connect any device such as a keyboard or a drum machine with the unit. All the devices that have MIDI feature can be used with each other. With Marshall, I was able to use a sound module, a synthesizer, a drum machine, and even a computer. This allowed me to have a number of other features at my disposal.

Diverse controls - Marshall JVM215C review

Another thing that I loved about Marshall was having a variety of controls. The wide range allowed me to easily switch from one setting to the other. These were also touch-sensitive to ensure no time wastage. There were buttons for mode and gain selection. You could also adjust the bass, the volume, and the reverb with the buttons.

Benefits

  • It offers an all-tube design that has greater durability and better resistance against impact.
  • It comes with 2 independent channel mixers that offer a clean overdrive.
  • Each channel comes with 3-foot switchable modes in different colors of green, red, and orange.
  • There are independent reverb controls that come with each of the channels.
  • There is 5 LED footswitch that comes with memory capabilities.

Social Proof

Like most recent buyers, I also wanted to read reviews on the internet to see what other users had to say about Marshall. I expected mixed reviews, but I was astonished to see the sheer number of positive reviews that people had left. Buyers loved this England-made product that had a vintage look. They were also all praise for the ease of usage that is offered. The switching can be done via the MIDI which adds to the convenience of the user. Moreover, professional players also felt that Marshall JVM completely revolutionized the way they performed their gigs.

Alternatives - Marshall JVM215C Review

To be honest, I wasn’t initially very keen on comparing Marshall JVM with any other models. I kept reminiscing over how great the sounds were in my old Church, and I knew nothing could beat that. However, for the sake of better understanding, I still checked some of the similar products in the market. I was glad I did so because, at the end of my research, I was even more convinced that I was making the right choice.

I wrote everything on a piece of paper and got to work. By comparing the features simultaneously, I realized that Marshall not only offered greater portability but it also offered intense music. The presence of independent channels meant that my music wasn’t going to distort, even at higher frequencies.
